Project Details
Kozeny-Wagner was selected by Metro to provide construction services for finishes to four MetroLink Stations. Construction included structural steel, polished precast wall panels, aluminum hand rails, fiberglass guardrails, benches, windscreens, information kiosks, casework, fencing, bicycle racks, customer service/ticket vending buildings, plumbing, HVAC and electrical/station lighting.
Unique Challenges
The proximity of the construction and requirements for track and system tie-ins with the operating system required the work to be performed in accordance with carefully developed and meticulously detailed staging plans. This was done to minimize impacts to over seven miles of rail operations yet provide for personnel safety. In addition, the project incorporated numerous changes throughout construction. With meticulous planning and the tireless efforts of Metro and Kozeny-Wagner, the project was completed on schedule and within budget.
